Invitation to media - The Honourable Melanie Joly to announce Government of Canada support for close to 100 SMEs in Quebec affected by the tariff situation

Repentigny, Quebec, April 6, 2026 - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

The Government of Canada is taking action by supporting businesses as they diversify their markets in order to reduce risk, strengthen their economic resilience and consolidate their competitiveness to help them face tariff pressures.

It is in this context that the Honourable Melanie Joly, Member of Parliament for Ahuntsic-Cartierville, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for CED, along with Tim Watchorn, Member of Parliament for Les Pays-d'en-Haut, and Madeleine Chenette, Member of Parliament for Therse-De Blainville, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture and Minister responsible for Official Languages and Parliamentary Secretary to the Secretary of State (Sport), will be in Repentigny to announce CED support for close to 100 Quebec SMEs whose operations are being affected by tariff pressures. She will take the opportunity to highlight funding for a local business.

Media representatives are then invited to participate in a tour of the business where the announcement is being held.
