Canadian Coast Guard Inshore Rescue Boat Crews winding down operations in Quebec

The Canadian Coast Guard's Inshore Rescue Boat stations in Quebec are winding down seasonal maritime search and rescue services.

The following stations in Quebec are already closed:

  • Saint-Anicet: closed on Wednesday, September 3 at noon
  • Trois-Rivires: closed on Monday, September 1 at 8 p.m.

The following stations will close on:

  • Longueuil, Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac, and Beaconsfield: Sunday, September 28 at 8 p.m.
  • Sorel: Sunday, November 30 at noon

The public can report an incident 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by calling the Quebec Maritime Rescue Sub-Centre (MRSC) at 1-800-463-4393 or a Canadian Coast Guard Marine Communications and Traffic Services Centre by VHF radio (channel 16).

The Inshore Rescue Boat program employs and trains post-secondary students across Canada, to provide additional maritime search and rescue service during the busy summer season.
